Evangelism

As we prayed for our community one night, God placed a heavy burden on our hearts for the people in the surroundings who do not yet know him. In April 2018, we conducted an evangelism tour going from house to house and sharing the gospel to the lost people near the villages where the Mercyland Christian Mission is located. The Mercyland property in Port-de-Paix, Haiti is surrounded by three villages: each having a population of about 200 people. The people are in vital need to hear the gospel and are is desperate need physically.

Durring that evangelistic campaign we met one young lady propbably in her late 20's to early 30's. She welcomed us and was very interested to hear what we had to say. We were stading outside her house on the hillside. We began to introduce the gospel of salvation to her using the 'Romans Road" outline. She shocked us all when she asked "who is Jesus, I dont know him. No one ever told me about him." So we continue to explain how Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life; that no one can saved apart from him. When we gave her an invitation to pray and receive Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior, she accepted the invitation. We Praised God.

After we left, we couldn't stop thinking of how people who were just 8 miles from a major city in Haiti (Port-de-Paix, Haiti) wasn't hearing the truth of the gospel of Christ.
Voodoo is very prominent in the area. Many people are living in bondage under demonic influences and superstitions. Through the power of the gospel chains are breaking and lives are constantly being impacted; out of the darkness into the marvelous light. Both the new believers and other christians living in these villages wanted to maintain their relationship with Christ but there was no church in the area.

After that campaign, Ebenson started to hold Sunday services for all the children in those villages under tarp shelters and daily encouraging the adults. We felt God leading us into constructing a more permanent structure where his Word could be taught. After few days in prayer we talked with our friends and board members from the States. While this was going on, God was making other arrangements. That same week we received a check from our home church in the US (Fruit Cove Baptist Church, in Jacksonville FL). It was a sigh for us to move forward with the church plant. We constructed a temporary building with that fund out of sheet metal and local sources wood. The construction was completed in August 2018.

The building is used both for church services and school during the weekdays.
Our vision for the church is found in 1 Timothy 4:13-16
Communicate the truth of God's Word for the holistic transformation of all members.
