Josnel lost his mother at a very young age. His father has been battling a severe and mysterious disease even before the death of his mother. After that event, his father got together with another lady. This new lady (Josnel step-mother) didn’t want children. She was using Josnel and his sisters for whatever work she needed done, practically as “restaveks”. A very good friend of the father who knew about Josnel’s situation asked the orphanage for help.
