Shinaika was suffering severe malnutrition upon their arrival to Mercy Land. Her father left the family without noticed leaving their mother with 6 children. Her mother suffers with a mental illness and really struggled to care for the children. Most of the children were living with neighbors who had compassion on the mother. One of those neighbors contacted us when they noticed the mother’s illness was getting worst.
